On my way to a job interview at Telstra Stadium tonight, with my brother driving, I noticed some street art next to the State Coroners Court, above the scaffolding. A rather tasteless tag compared to some of the commissioned works you see around the city, but it reminded me to mention Banksy to y'all who still read this. I'm quite the fan of stencil work, particularly when it's done well, and Banksy is one of London's most notorious.
Theres a couple of good stencils around town, if you spend enough time walking about. the one above is by the side of centennial park near bondi junction, and it's near a couple of Howard stencils, with slogans like 'liberal with the truth'. there's a Darth Vader one down my road, across from Ikea which I never seem to manage to go down and look at properly. Newtown's great for street art, down the little alleys from the main strip, where there's usually a work commissioned by the business, and then the scrawls around it.
I had a good look into street art for a little while, after seeing this video of some dudes actually tagging air force one. well, making a video that looks like they did. Mostly as a distraction though. like this is. I'll cook something, watch a little teev, then get back to study, I swears.
