I Was In Another World

The Loneliness struck yesterday, moping about the house with kevin back at booker bay, and only my phone for company. and that means messages to the seven women on my mind, like the eagles song. "Four that wanna love me, two that wanna own me, one says she's a friend of mine...".

Maybe not that exact mix, but it still made me pine for the time when it was one woman. It's like I've forgotten how one falls in love, cos it seemed so easy back in high school, you couldn't turn around without falling in love with a girl. Maybe the Hormones are drying up, or more likely I'm still stuck in the past. Jenna's a whole another world, cos i'm not sure why my heart seems to skip a beat whenever I think about her, or because everytime my phone beeps, I hope it's her. only reason I take my phone into my bedroom, cos she'll call late. I don't know why I'm publishing this, maybe so I don't put it in the diary.

anyway, I still miss Erin, but she's doing okay, and I've got a dream to look forward to, Washington and blonde interns from Michigan. Two months in the snow, ice, sleet and those angora sweaters... man, as if working for a congressperson wouldn't be enough to dream about...

When Will I See You, Again...

Look at me! I'm a distraction! I'm an easy way for you to get out of doing the work you need to do, to aovid the things you're thinking about, and a nice way to show off this simulation I'm doin.

Week 3 Blues...

The clouds outside on the drive this morning made it feel like an industrial wasteland, especially across the harbour bridge - that black steel towering above, the thousands of cars crawling along. Not a lot of happiness there. I'm getting here at 8am cos it's easier than trying to get here at 9 - leaving 10 min earlier gets me here an hour sooner, so I really should be studying. Just always thinkin of that eagles song, take it easy, "seven women on my mind" and that's it really, blokes don't stay on your mind, but what're you gonna do, y'know? write another blog entry about it.

There's this awsome internship thing that i'd love to do, but I need to work harder than I've ever done before. hey, it could happen. main thing is, it's my brother's birthday today on st. patrick's day, so big ups to the 19yo, y'all.

I Want T-shirt.

Posting away from home again, cos I'm looking at Federalism (politics Heads-Up), and while it's interesting and all, i don't get to relate it to the Australian system. America's been having the same drive towards less state power and more federal power as the land of Oz, and I'm just wodnering how bad is it? doubt can be justified in NSW at the present time, with all the uproar over State Transit, Healthcare and Education... but at the same time would a federal system do any better? particularly where the senate curbs the amount of funds driected to more populous states. woudl Rhode Island really need the same funding for its public transport as NYC? the Aust Federal government had taken away a lot of the states taxatoin powers long ago in the way back when, and under Howard, they have been limited even further. NSW doesn't get proportional distribution of GST money - if NSW had any rights it wuold be able to increase taxation to improve all these services falling into disrepair. This is me whining, yet not doing anything about it. It'd be extremely hard to get states and federal to agree on anything right now, with labour dominated states, and a liberal federal govt. it's not just Industrial Relations on the cards come the new Senate - the move to a more unitary system may also be pushed forward. and by unitary I mean centralised, federal dominated.

Oil's Up over US$55.12 on NYMEX again. still gotta find out what OPEC did.

I'm gonna get back to work now, people are lookin at me funny.

Lateness Of The Entry

Check the timestamp. would've been talking to Mei, but that was last night. only now i'm wide awake when I don't need to be. It's all good Mei. I got another job today, at Randwick Racecourse for the Easter Races, you know all those ads with the princesses preparing to watch horses run around a track. figurin if i'm lucky enough to serve a winner, there's chance of a massive tip. probably throw half of it away at the TAB, but only as a sacrifice to The Lady.

The course is most excellent, finally people that got the Baja Canada shirt without having it explained to them. And laughing, cos it is a good shirt. Only now i've gotta get another witty shirt, and there aren't that many as subtle as Baja Canada. all over the net it's I HATE GEORGE BUSH (Hello, Homeland Security), when I want somethin classy. There's one I've got my Eye on, and i would've got away with it too if it wasn't for those meddling speed cameras. Y'all will see it anyway once i've got the money together.

Seeing ash was awsome, but our time together is all too fleeting...

Mardi Gras

My God. It was so much fun, and I got $70 in tips. just keep your eyes above shoulder height at all times. And there were sightings of those mythical creatures, "hot lesbians". i'd say i'd never wash my eyes again, if it wasn't for the occasions where i forgot the eyes above shoulder height rule. I only got propositioned twice, and it was funny each time, they were so nice if i did swing that way, i would've been extremely flattered. oops, updates, gotta install...
