A Grate Show

Went to The Metro last night with kev and his girl to check out The Grates, supported by I (Heart) Hiroshima and another support band that was so irrelevant that for the life of me I can't remember who they were. the energy of these two bands was just incredible though, fast bouncin' pop/rock that makes you wish you'd had a few more and the people you were with wanted to dance as well. I (Heart) Hiroshima's female drummer was absolutely mental, providing half the lyrics and almost all of the energy, and the only dissapointment from them was getting back home in time to catch their video on rage, which failed to show just how great a live band they are.

after half an hour with the curtain down, The Grates funk out on stage, and kept it all goin' on all night long. hundreds of balloons descended from the roof, really felt like the fun of a kids' party for all us over 18's, especially with the red-cordial induced energy of the lead. awesome night for $20.

should see more live shows.
